Basketball Recap: Timnath Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Timnath waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over the Severance Silver Knights. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Silver Knights are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timnath to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Zadeh, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Sage Raymond was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Timnath's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points over those games. As for Severance, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timnath will venture away from home to challenge Greeley Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Severance, they will head out to take on Thompson Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
