Whitney is a perfect 3-0 against West Park since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Whitney had just enough and edged out Cardinal Newman 3-2.
Whitney's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Farris, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, West Park won against Oakmont on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. West Park beat Woodcreek by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-3. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Ayden Deome and Jace Oliver did most of the damage at the plate: Deome scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Oliver scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jesse Palmer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
West Park's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Whitney, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
