Softball Game Preview: Rochester Zebras vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

The Rochester Zebras will take on the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rochester comes in on eight and Oak Hill on three.

On Friday, Rochester narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lewis Cass 4-2.

Bria Rensberger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rochester saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadyn Field, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brailyn Hunter was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oak Hill walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Kings on Tuesday.

Rochester pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6.

Rochester suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Oak Hill when the teams last played back in May of 2018. Can the Zebras avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
