Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Hawks vs. Fauquier Falcons

The Skyline Hawks will take on the Fauquier Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Skyline has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Skyline will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Millbrook, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hawks skirted past the Pioneers 3-2.

Izaiah Matthews was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Matthews was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kaiden Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Fauquier made easy work of Handley on Monday and carried off a 14-3 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Skyline's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.25 runs across that stretch. As for Fauquier, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
