Basketball Game Preview: White River Hornets vs. Decatur Golden Gators

The White River Hornets will face off against the Decatur Golden Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Decatur likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for White River against Beamer as the team secured a 66-32 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Decatur was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell 35-25 to Jefferson.

White River's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

White River was able to grind out a solid win over Decatur when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 54-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for White River since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
