Basketball Recap: Hancock Comes Up Short

Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 77-47 loss at the hands of the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

When it comes to explaining why Hancock lost, don't look at Jacob Anderson. Despite the final result, he posted 35 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was Hayden McCarty, who scored five points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Hancock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 26-1.

Hancock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-25 victory against Frederick Christian Academy on the 25th.
