Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Faith Christian Eagles

The Eastern Randolph Wildcats will face off against the Faith Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern Randolph has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eastern Randolph came up short against Southeast Alamance on Wednesday, falling 14-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery Wright was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Chance Holdaway, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Vandalia Christian 13-1. Considering the Eagles have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Faith Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Eastern Randolph skirted past Faith Christian 13-12 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
