Volleyball Recap: El Dorado Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, El Dorado was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Union Mine Diamondbacks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

El Dorado walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-16.

Quinton Maciel paced El Dorado's offense, picking up 13 kills. Maciel got some help from Henry Metropulos and his 21 assists. Maciel was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

El Dorado has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Union Mine, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Dorado will face off against rival Bradshaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Union Mine is set to square off against their familiar foe Rosemont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
