Basketball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Hillcrest Huskies

The Timpanogos Timberwolves and the Hillcrest Huskies will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Timpanogos has three straight victories, Hillcrest has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Timpanogos will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 50) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 47-44 win over Summit Academy. While the Timberwolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest came up short against East on Friday and fell 44-33.

Timpanogos will need focus on slowing down Dayana Mulamba, one of several Hillcrest players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points. Sam Sebahar was another key player, putting up seven points.

Timpanogos' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Timpanogos was able to grind out a solid win over Hillcrest in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 41-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timpanogos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
