Baseball Recap: Collegiate Comes Up Short

Collegiate fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Clearwater on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 5-4. The Spartans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Collegiate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Malaise, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another was Maddox Drumright, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Clearwater, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-10-1.

While Collegiate had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
