Volleyball Game Preview: Belmont Marauders vs. Arlington Spy Ponders

The Belmont Marauders will venture away from home to take on the Arlington Spy Ponders at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Belmont came up short against Lexington on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Marauders in their meetings with the Minutemen: they've now lost four in a row.

Belmont took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Arlington made easy work of Burlington on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Spy Ponders haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Arlington won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.

Arlington's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Belmont couldn't quite get it done against Arlington when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
