Basketball Recap: Canon Lazier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mulvane over Parsons

If Mulvane was riding high fresh off their 56-36 takedown of Kingman last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mulvane Wildcats lost 75-53 to the Parsons Vikings on Tuesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Mulvane lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Canon Lazier, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Lazier a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Myers, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Mulvane's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Parsons, they now have a winning record of 1-0-1.

Mulvane wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-42 loss against Labette County on the 12th. As for Parsons, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-36 defeat against Collegiate on the 12th.
