Baseball Recap: Gateway College Preparatory's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Gateway College Preparatory can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Jarrell Cougars 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted since March 7th.

Spencer Duncan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Gateway College Preparatory's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't).

Gateway College Preparatory's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-13. As for Jarrell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Gateway College Preparatory will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jarrell: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
