Basketball Recap: Wootton Takes a Loss

Wootton lost against Whitman back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wootton Patriots took a 59-44 bruising from the Whitman Vikings.

Leading Whitman to victory were Titian DeRosa and Hayden Walsh. DeRosa went 6-for-14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds, while Walsh went 5-for-6 on his way to 16 points. That's the most points DeRosa has posted since back in March of 2024. Will Shapiro was another key player, putting up five points and ten boards.

Wootton's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Whitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Looking ahead, Wootton will face off against Blake at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Whitman, they have already played their next contest, an 82-66 victory against Bethesda-Chevy Chase on the 18th.
