Softball Recap: Taft Eagles vs. Trinity Blazers
Taft put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Trinity Blazers with a sharp 12-4 victory. The win was familiar territory for Taft who now have five in a row.
Olivia Saldana made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Saldana has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Saldana was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
In other pitching news, Jiselle Hernandez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Elena Gonzalez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
