Football Recap: Menominee Piles Up the Points Against Houghton + How To Watch

Menominee extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They breezed past the Houghton Gremlins to the tune of 56-12. The Maroons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

As for Houghton, they now have a losing record of 2-3. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Menominee is ranked 83rd).

When it comes to explaining why Houghton lost, don't look at Brayden Goudge. Despite the final result, he rushed for 158 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Goudge's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Menominee will take on rival Gladstone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Houghton is set to face off against their familiar foe Calumet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Goudge and Ben Anderson.
