Softball Recap: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Wheatland Pirates
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Union Mine had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Wheatland Pirates 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for Union Mine.
Kaylee Henkel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Henkel was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Ruby Luce was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Union Mine is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Wheatland, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-10.
