League recap: Steele extends winning streak with victory over Edinburg North

5A Region IV District 28 recap December 3, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Region IV District 28 this week, Steele beat Edinburg North 48-14. The victory was the 12th in a row for the team.

Steele took down the Cougars 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. LG Williams threw for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.

Scott Lehnhoff's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Justin Stockton contributed 83 yards. Sterling Jenkins helped Steele's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 32 yards.

Stockton was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 83 yards on 7 carries as the Knights topped Edinburg North. Teammate Bryson Denley added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.

Steele's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 1,362 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while D'Angelo Wallace has 29 catches for 570 yards.

Steele led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on Roy Garza's team. Williams in the win.
