Preview: Anthony Wildcats vs. Fort Hancock Mustangs
Anthony is 9-1 against Fort Hancock since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Anthony Wildcats will be playing at home against the Fort Hancock Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Anthony's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Fort Hancock has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Anthony strolled past McCamey with points to spare, taking the game 60-46.
Meanwhile, Fort Hancock took a serious blow against Wink on Tuesday, falling 70-43. Fort Hancock has not had much luck with Wink recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Fort Hancock's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emmanuel Herrera, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Zaid Hermosillo who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 41.9% of Fort Hancock's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Anthony has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Fort Hancock, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
