Creekside Christian Academy falls despite strong effort from Cedric Taylor

Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Cougars vs. Heritage Hawks

The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars pushed their score all the way to 72 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage. Creekside Christian Academy has struggled against Heritage recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Creekside Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Cedric Taylor, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Taylor continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kelton Teasley, who scored nine points.

Heritage was led to victory by Sam Mead and Max Skidmore. Mead scored 23 points along with eight rebounds, while Skidmore scored 26 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Skidmore has scored all season. Ian Hall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.

Creekside Christian Academy bumped their record down to 11-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Creekside Christian Academy will face off against Victory Christian Center at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Victory Christian Center's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Heritage, they will face off against Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gainesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Heritage is ranked 23rd).
