Softball Game Preview: Roseville Raiders vs. Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders

Roseville will take on Cretin-Derham Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither Roseville nor Cretin-Derham Hall posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Roseville and White Bear Lake, and White Bear Lake kept the tradition alive. The Raiders fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cretin-Derham Hall lost a heartbreaker to Stillwater when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Raiders fell just short of the Ponies by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Ponies: they've now lost three in a row.

Camille Castro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Yaeger, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Roseville's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-11. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Roseville suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Cretin-Derham Hall in their previous matchup back in April. Can Roseville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
