Soccer Game Preview: Midland Valley vs. Airport

Midland Valley hasn't had much luck against Airport recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Midland Valley Mustangs will welcome the Airport Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Midland Valley is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Gray Collegiate Academy, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the War Eagles are ranked tenth).

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Airport and Aiken have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Airport lost 7-0 to Aiken.

Airport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Midland Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Midland Valley suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Airport in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Midland Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
