Recap: Sammamish RedHawks vs. Newport - Bellevue Knights
Even though the Sammamish RedHawks have not done well against the Newport - Bellevue Knights recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Sammamish secured a 57-53 W over Newport - Bellevue. For Sammamish, this counts as revenge for the 61-53 defeat Newport - Bellevue walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Newport - Bellevue still got an impressive performance from Jace Rainey, who scored 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaak Losoya, who scored 11 points.
Sammamish's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Newport - Bellevue, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sammamish will take on Foster at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Foster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Monday. As for Newport - Bellevue, they will head out on the road to face off against Kamiak at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Kamiak presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Newport - Bellevue in Washington (Kamiak is ranked 61st, while Newport - Bellevue is ranked 272nd).
