Baseball Game Preview: Poultney Blue Devils vs. Arlington Memorial Eagles

Poultney is 0-10 against Arlington Memorial since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. Poultney will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Poultney will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Proctor, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Phantoms on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Arlington Memorial faced West Rutland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles lost 18-8 to the Golden Horde. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Golden Horde: they've now lost three in a row.

Jaxson Bachiochi made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Hogan Maguire was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Arlington Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Poultney, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
