Recap: Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans vs. Bayside Marlins
The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans pushed their score all the way to 77 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bayside by a score of 80-77. Veritas Collegiate Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bayside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Veritas Collegiate Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Majesty Dawson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macqell Freeman, who scored 21 points.
Veritas Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Bayside, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veritas Collegiate Academy will take on Spirit HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Spirit HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Veritas Collegiate Academy likes a good challenge.
