Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Heights Spartans vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

The Richmond Heights Spartans will challenge the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Richmond Heights is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Gilmour Academy just ended the team's five-game winning streak last Sunday. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls' game on Friday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 49-45 W over Riverside. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Chagrin Falls' win came from a few key players Richmond Heights will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Avery Russell, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Wheatley, who earned nine points.

Richmond Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Chagrin Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Richmond Heights was able to grind out a solid win over Chagrin Falls in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 55-44. Does Richmond Heights have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chagrin Falls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
