Basketball Game Preview: Marvin Ridge Mavericks vs. Cuthbertson Cavaliers

The Marvin Ridge Mavericks will face off against the Cuthbertson Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Marvin Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Sun Valley as they won 73-55. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Marshall Payne went supernova for Marvin Ridge, going 9 for 11 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Payne a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Voss, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Cuthbertson's game on Monday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Forest Hills by a score of 60-50.

Marvin Ridge's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Cuthbertson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Marvin Ridge strolled past Cuthbertson in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 56-41. Will Marvin Ridge repeat their success, or does Cuthbertson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
