Football Game Preview: Cheverus Stags vs. Marshwood Hawks

Cheverus hasn't had much luck against Marshwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stags will head out to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m.

Cheverus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Falmouth, who was ranked eighth at the time (Cheverus was ranked 18th). The Stags lost 27-3 to the Navigators on Friday. The contest marked the Stags' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Marshwood got the win against Sanford on Friday by a conclusive 42-20. The game marked the Hawks' most dominant win of the season.

Cheverus' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Marshwood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Cheverus and Marshwood were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in September, but Cheverus came up empty-handed after a 23-22 defeat. Can the Stags avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
