League recap: Walled Lake Northern tops South Lyon to extend winning streak

Kensington Lakes - North recap Oct. 23, 2012

Walled Lake Northern extended the longest winning streak in Kensington Lakes - North this week by beating South Lyon, 29-18. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Knights.

Mott moved up to 368 from 431 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Corsairs were able to make move up by topping Redford Union 37-6.

Walled Lake Western's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Bambard threw for 84 yards and Jake Neracher had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Bambard chipped in 100 yards. Matt Carroll helped Walled Lake Western's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.

Walled Lake Western's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bambard has thrown for 1298 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Neracher has 33 catches for 506 yards. Bambard also leads the league in rushing with 693 yards.

Mott took down the Panthers 37-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
