Basketball Recap: Micah Woods' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Graham over Clover Garden School

Graham came up into this matchup off a tough 47-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Clover Garden School Grizzlies by a score of 69-67 on Friday. The Red Devils' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Graham's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Woods, who went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ladario Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Graham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Ethan Saunders was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds for Clover Garden School. Those 28 points gave Saunders a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden DeAlto, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Graham's record is now 4-3. As for Clover Garden School, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.

Graham will be playing in front of their home fans against Cummings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clover Garden School, they will welcome Ascend Leadership at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover Garden School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
