Baseball Recap: Bergenfield Takes a Loss

Bergenfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Wayne Hills on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 6-5. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Esdriham P. made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. D. Almonte was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Bergenfield now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Wayne Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

Bergenfield will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Wayne Valley at 4:15 p.m. As for Wayne Hills, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ridgewood at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
