Basketball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Takes a Loss

Wilber-Clatonia lost against Fillmore Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The matchup between the Wolverines and the Panthers didn't end well, with the Wolverines falling 60-45. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fillmore Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Fintel led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Those 16 points gave Fintel a new career-high. Joey Stoner was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 17 points.

Wilber-Clatonia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fillmore Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Wilber-Clatonia will be taking part in a tournament against Nebraska Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fillmore Central will wrap up 2025 with a road trip to face off against Sidney on the 29th.
