Football Game Preview: Ransom Everglades Raiders vs. Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions

Ransom Everglades hasn't had much luck against Immaculata-La Salle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Royal Lions at 7:00 p.m. Ransom Everglades' defense has only allowed 10.4 points per game this season, so Immaculata-La Salle's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Ransom Everglades' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Westminster Christian on Friday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 22-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Ransom Everglades' defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Edwin Carr and Charlie Holleman, who racked up all four sacks between them. The game marked Holleman's first with multiple sacks this season.

Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 31-0 victory over Booker T. Washington. The Royal Lions' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Immaculata-La Salle's win came from a few key players Ransom Everglades will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nate Merrell Jr., who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Merrell Jr. is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Tyrone Williams was Merrell Jr.'s top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Ransom Everglades now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Immaculata-La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Ransom Everglades couldn't quite get it done against Immaculata-La Salle when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 43-31. Thankfully for the Raiders, Terrance Smith Jr. (who rushed for 135 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
