Volleyball Game Preview: Ridgewood Rebels vs. Lake View Wildcats

The Ridgewood Rebels will take on the Lake View Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Ridgewood came up short against West Chicago and fell 2-0.

While Ridgewood was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Lake View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Prosser. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-21 in the first set.

While Lake View ultimately came up short, they really made Prosser work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 21-25, 26-24, 25-19.

Ridgewood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 23-7 record this season. As for Lake View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1.

Ridgewood was able to grind out a solid win over Lake View when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
