Recap: Phillips Academy Big Blue vs. Brunswick School Bruins
The Phillips Academy Big Blue lost against the Brunswick School Bruins back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Phillips Academy took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brunswick School. While losing is never fun, Phillips Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 138th in Massachusetts, while Brunswick School is ranked 12th in Connecticut).
This is the second loss in a row for Phillips Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 Cheshire Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Brunswick School, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phillips Academy will square off against Deerfield Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Deerfield Academy and Phillips Academy are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Brunswick School, they will head out on the road to face off against Phillips Exeter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Phillips Exeter Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
