Basketball Recap: Amari Southern Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Yazoo County lost to Hartfield Academy back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Panthers came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 69-61.

Yazoo County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Southern, who posted 29 points. The contest was Southern's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kezyron Young, who had 20 points.

Yazoo County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hartfield Academy beat the Panthers by a score of 70-65 on Tuesday.
