Volleyball Recap: Star Valley Braves vs. Jackson Hole Broncs
On Saturday, Star Valley faced Jackson Hole in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Star Valley Braves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jackson Hole Broncs , sneaking past 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Braves as they're now sitting on three straight.
Star Valley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-101), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-20, 18-25, 26-24, 15-10.
Star Valley can attribute much of their success to Camryn Mackey, who had 15 digs and two aces. Mackey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last nine games she's played.
Star Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.
Despite the loss, Jackson Hole still got an impressive performance from Denisse Moreno, who had 15 digs.
Star Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-21 record this season. As for Jackson Hole, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15-1.
Star Valley is on the road again on Thursday to play Thunder Basin at 9:30 p.m. Thunder Basin will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Star Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Jackson Hole does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
