Baseball Recap: Upper Merion Area Gets the Win

While Upper Merion Area's win against Pottsgrove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 4-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Upper Merion Area gave Henry Destefano the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Destefano a new career-high.

At the plate, Upper Merion Area's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hal Eaton, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Upper Merion Area's record is now 9-10. As for Pottsgrove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

As of now, neither Upper Merion Area nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
