Soccer Recap: Marion Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Marion had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Elwood Panthers a 5-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Jayme Hardwick as she scored four goals for her team.

This is the second loss in a row for Elwood and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Marion has already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Oak Hill on the 23rd. As for Elwood, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 9-0 defeat against Muncie Burris on the 25th.
