Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short

Tuscola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 63-41 to the Brevard Blue Devils. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 41-39.

Despite the loss, Tuscola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ace Rogers almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Those 21 points gave Rogers a new career-high. Bryce Ferguson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Brevard, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Tuscola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-30 loss against Franklin on the 24th. As for Brevard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-64 defeat against East Rutherford on the 24th.
