Baseball Recap: Saint Mary's Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Saint Mary challenged Marin Catholic on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 8-2 to the Wildcats.

Saint Mary's has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Marin Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Coming up, Saint Mary's will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against El Cerrito at 4:00 p.m. The Gauchos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marin Catholic, they will be playing at home against Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.6, the Lancers 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
