Eagan proved they can win big last Monday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lakeville North Panthers a 1-0 shutout. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Brendan Mademann tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 7.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Eagan's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Lunneborg, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Eagan's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eagan will take on rival Eastview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lakeville North is set to face off against their familiar foe Shakopee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
