Football Game Preview: Taft Toreadors vs. El Camino Real Royals

Taft is 1-8 against El Camino Real since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Toreadors will host the Royals at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Taft took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 21-13 win over Cleveland.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Camino Real). They blew past Chatsworth, posting a 46-6 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Royals, who have now won three matchups in a row.

El Camino Real found their leader in freshman Raul Berdon, who rushed for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.

El Camino Real was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for El Camino Real, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
