Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Ridge Rams vs. Hiawatha Red Hawks

The Pleasant Ridge Rams will square off against the Hiawatha Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Pleasant Ridge sidestepped McLouth for a 43-41 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Nathan Layton was the offensive standout of the matchup as he posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Ruebhausen, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Hiawatha beat Horton 66-53 on Tuesday.

Hiawatha now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pleasant Ridge, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Pleasant Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Hiawatha in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, sneaking past 64-61. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
