The Marianna Bulldogs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they square off against the Liberty County Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marianna will be strutting in after a victory while Liberty County will be coming in after a defeat.

Marianna is headed out to face Liberty County after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Marianna snuck past Walton with a 50-44 win on Friday.

Amari Clemons went supernova for Marianna, rushing for 383 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 64 receiving yards. Clemons' longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards. RJ Mayes was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Marianna was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 617 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walton only gained 506.

Marianna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kenyon D Holden.

Meanwhile, Liberty County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by Blountstown 48-14 on Friday. The Bulldogs were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Everything came up roses for Marianna against Liberty County in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 as the squad secured a 46-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marianna since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
