EL CAJON, Calif. - the Patriots scored 28 points in the second quarter to secure a big 52-3 victory over University City (San Diego, Calif.) on Saturday.
Christian scored on a
Michael Carrillo touchdown pass to
Trenton Sauls, an
Owen Adair touchdown run, a touchdown catch by
Trevor Howell and a touchdown run by Sauls in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, CHS led 49-3 at the half.
The El Cajon school grew its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. The Patriots scored once in the quarter on a field goal by
Mason Powell.
Christian had given up an average of 8.9 points prior to the contest. The three points that the Centurions ended with were well below their average of 11.7 coming into the game.
The victory avenged Christian's close 32-31 loss to University City last season.
The loss comes after University City defeated Coronado 28-18 last week. With the win CHS extended its winning streak to three games.
