The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory lost, one person who can't be blamed is Fedrick Pernell. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. The contest was Pernell's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Kennedy, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Saint Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory and Terra Nova will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Terra Nova will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 665th, while Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is ranked 279th). As for Saint Mary's, they will head out on the road to face off against El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. El Cerrito is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
