Volleyball Recap: Sunshine S Takes a Loss

Sunshine S lost against Evangel Christian back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Saints came up short against the Lightning, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-5.

Evangel Christian found their leader in sophomore Laney Marshall, who had seven assists and five aces.

Sunshine S' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Evangel Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunshine S will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 5:30 p.m. on October 2. As for Evangel Christian, they will host East Central HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
