Softball Game Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. Goliad Tigers

Taft is 1-9 against Goliad since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Taft Greyhounds will venture away from home to challenge the Goliad Tigers at 11:00 a.m. Taft has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Taft lost 16-1 to Ingleside on Monday. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Goliad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Ingleside.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Goliad, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Taft might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Goliad in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Taft avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
