Breck is 9-1 against Mounds Park Academy since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Breck is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Breck beat St. Paul Academy-Summit 7-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Garret Trench made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Trench was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other pitching news, Koen Mehta looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Colin Mitchell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Amato, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Mounds Park Academy fell victim to Providence Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Lions.
Mounds Park Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Breck, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything went Breck's way against Mounds Park Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Breck made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
